Given:
The perimeter of a square = The area of a square.
Let the side of the square be a unit.
As we know, the perimeter of the square = 4 x side
= 4a
And, the area of the square = side2
= a2
Thus, 4a = a2
ā a = 4 unit
Now, the area of the square = a2
= 42
= 16 sq. units
Hence, the area of the square is 16 sq. units.
