Answer

Comparing equation 2x2+x+2\sqrt{2}x^2 + x + \sqrt{2} = 0 with ax2 + bx + c = 0, we get :

⇒ a = 2\sqrt{2}, b = 1 and c = 2\sqrt{2}

D = b2 - 4ac

= (1)24×2×2(1)^2 - 4 \times \sqrt{2} \times \sqrt{2}

= 1 - 8

= -7.

Since, D < 0

Hence, roots of the equation are imaginary.
