Answer

Given equations :

⇒ 13 + 2y = 9x ……..(1)

⇒ 3y = 7x ………(2)

Multiplying equation (1) by 3, we get :

⇒ 3(13 + 2y) = 3 × 9x

⇒ 39 + 6y = 27x …………(3)

Multiplying equation (2) by 2, we get :

⇒ 6y = 14x …………..(4)

Subtracting equation (4) from (3), we get :

⇒ 39 + 6y - 6y = 27x - 14x

⇒ 13x = 39

⇒ x = 3913\dfrac{39}{13} = 3.

Substituting value of x in equation (2), we get :

⇒ 3y = 7 × 3

⇒ y = 7.

Hence, x = 3 and y = 7.
