Fresh milk has a pH of 6. How do you think the pH will change as it turns into curd? Explain your answer.

Answer
As milk changes to curd due to action of bacteria, the lactose in milk is converted to lactic acid which makes it more acidic. Hence, pH will decrease from its initial value of 6 to a lower pH value.
