Hydrogen chloride — Forms a curdy white precipitate on passage through AgNO3 solution.
AgNO3 [aq.] + HCl ⟶ AgCl ↓ [curdy white ppt.] + HNO3
Hydrogen sulphide — Turns moist lead acetate paper silvery black.
Pb(CH3COO)2 [colourless] + H2S ⟶ PbS ↓ [black] + 2CH3COOH
