What role did Sir Syed Ahmad Khan play in the formation of the Muslim League?

Sir Syed Ahmad Khan founded the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College at Aligarh which had both Hindu and Muslim patrons.

6. His idea was that Anglo Muslim unity was possible, but Hindu-Muslim unity was impossible.
7. This paved the way for the formation of the Muslim League.
