(a) The centre of gravity (C.G.) of a body is the point about which the algebraic sum of moments of weights of all the particles constituting the body is zero and the entire weight of the body can be considered to act at this point, howsoever the body is placed.
(b)
- As the centre of gravity of a hollow cone is at h/3 from its base on its axis where h is the height of the cone.
Given,
Height of the cone (h) = 6 cm
Centre of gravity of cone =
- Yes, now cone is a solid cone. So, the position of the new center of gravity from the base will be h/4 сm i.e. from the base of the cone.
